i-FAIR Success Story- We celebrate our Fellow, Dozie Igweilo. As the founder and CEO of Quadloop Solar Lantern, he is raising the bar with his innovation “Idunnu”. It is an affordable, eco-friendly solar lantern and home system. Idunnu gave birth to his venture, Quadloop Africa. Through his innovation, Dozie was accepted into i-FAIR, where our Mentors & Experts guided him through the prototype development of “Idunnu” which is now shining so bright across Nigeria and bringing joy to diverse households.
Quadloop launched Idunnu Solar Lantern, made from 70% recycled material. This solidifies Dozie’s position as a trailblazer and venture creator in renewable energy. QuadLoop Africa won the prestigious “Innovating Renewable Energy” award at the Nigeria Innovation Summit and also won the “Best 10 Global Innovation of Netexplo Observatory 2023.
Interesting fact- for every Idunnu lantern produced, 2.5kg of E-waste is prevented from ending up in landfills. Also, using a Idunu instead of kerosene lantern or other fossil fuel can prevent 0.5kg of Carbon monoxide emissions!
